In the Kit Bag: Dope Snow
Dope Snow, founded in 2008, makes modern ski and snowboard outerwear with bold colours and solid 15K technical specs. An honest brand feature.
Dope Snow is one of the modern outerwear brands that has genuinely raised the game on what mid-range ski kit looks like. Strong colour ranges, solid technical specs, and a focus on getting the fundamentals right rather than chasing a premium price tag.
Who they are
Dope Snow was founded in 2008. Over the years it has built a reputation among skiers and snowboarders for practical, modern outerwear that looks good and performs well. The brand is independent and has developed a clear identity, colourful, confident, technically competent.
What they make
Dope Snow produces a full outerwear range: jackets, bibs and pants, fleeces, base layers, gloves, mittens, beanies and facemasks. The 25/26 range is organised into three main product categories:
- All Mountain: Dry Tech Performance 15K fabric, maximum environmental protection. Includes the Adept jacket, Iconic pants, Akin jacket, Puffer Full Zip and others.
- Freedom: Dry Tech 4-way Stretch 15K fabric, designed for mobility. Includes the Spartan jacket, Blizzard pants, Legacy jacket and Vertex jacket.
- Riding Hoodie: Dry Tech Softshell 15K. Includes the Yeti and Cyclone hoodies.
All jackets and pants in the main lineup carry a 15,000mm waterproof rating, with taped seams on most models (the softshell Yeti and Cyclone are exceptions, as softshells typically are). All Dope jackets use 100% recycled polyester outer fabric and are Bluesign approved. The PFAS-free DWR coating is a meaningful sustainability step.
Who it’s for
Dope Snow sits comfortably in the mid-range price point and is well-suited to:
- Skiers and snowboarders who want modern aesthetics and strong colour options
- Buyers looking for honest 15K waterproofing without paying premium-brand prices
- People who care about recycled materials and sustainability credentials
- Both beginners and intermediate skiers who want kit that works without over-spending
The fit options cover different preferences, the Adept is regular, the Blizzard Pullover is relaxed, the Spartan is boxy for a more freestyle look. Worth checking each product’s fit description before ordering.
What I’d buy right now
If I were buying Dope Snow today, the Adept would be my first choice. It’s a carryover classic in the lineup, Dry Tech Performance 15K, insulated, regular fit, with taped seams, elasticated snow skirt, storm guard hood and a microfleece chinguard. It’s been refined across multiple seasons and hits the right balance of warmth, mobility and features for most recreational skiing.
For someone preferring a more relaxed, pullover-style jacket, the Blizzard Pullover is a team favourite and updated for 25/26 with improved shell fabric and lining.
For pants, the Iconic is a long-running staple, relaxed fit, zippered gusseted hems, full feature set.
Honest verdict
Dope Snow consistently delivers genuine 15K waterproofing with proper taped seams, real sustainability credentials (Bluesign, PFAS-free DWR, 95% recycled padding), and a colour and fit range wider than most competitors. The pricing is mid-range rather than budget, you’re paying for a real product, not just a label, but it represents good value for what you get.
For skiers who want modern outerwear that performs well and doesn’t look generic, Dope Snow is a genuinely strong option. It holds its own against more established brands on specs and often wins on design.
